Good Faith Estimate

If you don’t have insurance, or choose not to use it, you have the right to know in writing what your care will cost before it starts. This page explains that right in plain words.

Notice under the No Surprises Act · Reviewed 29 September 2026

What it is

A Good Faith Estimate is a written statement of the expected cost of your counseling: the session fee, how often we expect to meet, and anything else we expect to bill for. It is an estimate, not a bill, and it is yours to keep.

Who it’s for

Anyone who doesn’t have insurance, or who has insurance and chooses not to use it for this care. If we bill your insurance, the estimate rules don’t apply — your plan tells you what you’ll owe instead.

When you get it

  • When you book an appointment at least three business days ahead, we give you the estimate at least one business day before the session.
  • When you book at least ten business days ahead, you get it at least three business days before.
  • You can also ask for one at any time, before you book anything.

What ours will say

Session fee: $150 per session. How many sessions depends on what we agree together after the first one, and the estimate will say so.

If the plan changes — more sessions, fewer, a different approach — we give you a new estimate before the change takes effect.

If the bill is higher than the estimate

If you are billed at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill through the federal patient–provider dispute resolution process. Start within 120 calendar days of the date on the bill.

Keep a copy of your estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.

How to ask

Call or text (251) 564-0154, or say so when you book. There’s no charge for asking, and asking doesn’t commit you to anything.

This page is a plain-language summary of your rights under the No Surprises Act. It is not a substitute for the written estimate you receive before your first session.
